Basma Al Mansour
Student Vice President
Basma Almansour is a PhD candidate in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology at George Mason University. Her research focuses on cancer prevention, particularly breast cancer screening among Arab American women. She holds a master’s degree in Tumor Biology from Georgetown University and has previous teaching experience. As a member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Basma values academic excellence, service, and the opportunity to connect with scholars from diverse disciplines and backgrounds. She looks forward to serving as Student Vice President and contributing to a welcoming and engaged Phi Kappa Phi community at George Mason University.
Omolayo J. Anjorin
Student Engagement Officer
A public health researcher with clinical training and interdisciplinary expertise in behavioral health equity, tobacco and substance use, mental health, implementation science, and marginalized population health. Omolayo’s research examines how social, structural, and commercial determinants influence health outcomes among sexual, gender, and racial minority populations, as well as migrant, displaced, and underserved communities. She uses qualitative, epidemiologic, implementation science, and policy approaches to study health inequities and contribute evidence that can inform more equitable interventions, health systems, and public health policies. Across her work, she prioritizes community engagement, structural analysis, and translating research into policy, practice, and advocacy for populations often excluded from mainstream public health research.
Outside of my research, she enjoys traveling and reading fiction across different genres.
